With 15+ years of experience and hands on training, we have become masters of all things hair extensions.  It truly does take some time and commitment to be able to know what works best for each individaul situation and hair type.  At  A. Marie Hair Company we pride ourselves on continuing education and training.   We will share all the knowledge we have gained thus far with you.  We want you to have the best extension experience possible.  We are big fans of extensions.  They  allow our guests to maintain the health of their own hair all while adding the many benefits of extensions into their already beautiful head of hair.   

There are many different options for extensions available today.  When it comes to extensions, they can be attached to your natural hair using many different methods.  The methods we prefer include iTips with cylinder attachment, taped in, sewn in, and even clipped in, although there are a few other options as well.  We use only 100% human remy quality hair.  Prices and quality vary and the method of attachment often times dictates the type of hair that will be used.  The hair is available in many different lengths and colors as well as different textures allowing for the ultimate hair match.  We strive to create a seamless blend between your hair and the extension hair which may dictate which option of extension and attachment will be right for you!  Which type of extension method you will need is made on an individual basis.  We want to know your needs exactly to cultivate the best plan, just for you!

 Our personal favorites are the iTips and weft extension methods.  

***The iTip extensions have a unique tipping system.  It is a step above the rest.  The tips are made from a rubberized material called polyurethane.  This material doesn’t do any damage to your hair or the extension hair.  This is what allows you to use the same extension hair month after month.  

***The weft extensions are one of the newest systems we offer.  Our wefting system is a single weft of hair that is sewn in through a beaded foundation.  Our wefts are 30 grams - 11" wide and are so delicate and thin.  You are getting all the quality of your hand-tied weft but it is actually machine-tied, which means it can be cut.  You can also use the same wefts month after month. 

You are able to re-use both types of the hair for up to 2 years if you follow the proper maintenence routine.  Yes, you read that correctly…YOU ARE ABLE TO RE-USE YOUR EXTENSION HAIR MONTH AFTER MONTH!  That was huge for us!  We love to recycle and reuse as much as we can, even when it comes to our products.  The hair has such a great quality which allows you to get many adjustments in before needing to upgrade or replace your hair.  

The process is as follows:

1. SETUP A CONSULTATION FOR HAIR  EXTENSIONS-  We will go over your expectations and the vision you have for your hair extensions.  Together we will communicate your best options and make a final decision.  We will choose the best texture and color for your extensions.  Your stylist will cultivate a customized hair plan just for you!  A DEPOSIT will be required in order for us to purchase your hair and will then be put towards your grand total. 

2. PREP YOUR HAIR-  If you will be changing your current color or it needs a touch up it must be done prior to your extension installation! Please schedule your color appointment prior to your extension installation day.  You need to have your hair colored according to your hair extension plan and have clean and dry hair for your extension installation day.

3. INSTALL YOUR NEW HAIR  EXTENSIONS-  Your stylist will install your extensions according to your customized hair plan!  Be sure to follow your aftercare instructions to thoroughly enjoy your new look!

The amount of extensions you will need depends on the density of your hair.  In our experience the typical amount for a full head of extensions would be 125 strands.  Again, that number would vary though depending on your current density and hair goals.

If you are going with the wefting method, we reccommend about 4/5 wefts for a full head of hair extensions.   This amount will vary depending on the current density of your hair and the hair goals you are trying to acheive. 

Get used to a very consistent brushing routine.  This helps to untangle the extensions and keep them looking great.  Brushing should be done twice daily at a minimum.  You should shampoo, and condition per your stylists recommendations.   When blow drying your hair make sure the strands are in their natural position and not being manipulated in any harsh or unusual way.  Make sure you thouroughly dry the hair near your scalp.  Styling can be done as you normally would, just take extra care not to curl too close to where your hair and the extensions bond together.  We recommend that you sleep with your hair in a low ponytail to limit the amount of tangling during your sleep.  A silk pillow case is also reccommended but not required.  Finally, you must get regular adjustments.   Following the proper maintence steps daily will assure you that your hair stays  shiny and healthy, along with add to the longevity of your hair extensions' lifespan.

An extension adjustment is when all of your extensions are adjusted back up to your scalp after they have grown out.  This takes place approximately every 6-10 weeks.

Most hair extension methods require a tightening or adjustment  every 6-10 weeks. 

In order for you to secure the stylist and the extensions you'll need for your new hair extensions installation; we require that you sign our hair extension contract and pay a deposit.  This assures us both that our commitment to the extension installation is upheld.  This contract locks in your order and secures your stylist for all of your new hair extension needs.  

Once we have received your hair extension questionnaire and have completed our hair consultation together.  We will both confirm the information provided as correct and exactly what hair you need to order.  When you want to go ahead with securing your stylist and ordering your new hair we will do so.  You can sign your hair extension contract the same day as your consultation.

Yes.  Hair extension consultations are $33.

Typically they take about 30 minutes.  You’ll be communicating all of your inspirations to your stylist to make sure you absolutely love the plan for your new extension color and overall look when they are done!  At the end of the consult you should have your very own customized extension plan set to go!

At the time the hair extension contract is signed, a nonrefundable deposit is taken.  This inital deposit will secure your stylist and hair, along with any other necessary tools  for your install.  The initial deposit will be applied towards the cost of your hair and hair extension install. 

No.  The deposit is nonrefundable but will be put toward the total cost of your hair and hair extension installation.

The final balance for your extension installation and any other services performed will be due the day they are received

Yes, this is important to us!  We only use remy hair since it is the highest grade of quality for hair extensions.  It’s the easiest to work with, the most durable, and the kind of hair that looks the most natural.  Hair identified as remy, or remi, gets its name from having been cut in a special way to reduce tangling and matting.   We only want the best hair for our clients!

 After doing a lot of research and nitpicking many products available we came to a decision of using the best quality extensions: DreamCatchers Hair Extensions!  They are a great company that provide great products!  We chose the best and want only the best for our clients.

Cylinders can be reused month after month.  They typically last up to 2/3 adjustments.

It is not uncommon to lose a few pieces of extension hair if you have the itip extensions installed...especially if  your maintenance appointment is approaching.  Of course, you will always have most all of your pieces in, so it is unlikely this will be noticeable at all from another person's perspective.  If you do lose a few pieces at any time, you can always just pop in to A. Marie Hair Company and we'll be able to put them back in for you at no charge.

There could be a minimal amount of damage done to your hair during many hair procedures.  Color causes damage, as does teasing or backcombing, highlighting, flat ironing, curling, blow-drying, harsh chemicals in our every day products, “free radicals” and yes, even extensions could too.  Let’s just be honest and focus on minimizing or eliminating damage by following the proper maintenance routine.  A little work goes a long way for both your hair and the extension hair.  If you commit to your maintenance routine you will likely not have any damage done to your natural hair.
